Welcome to www.FoxesFarm.com

From the Editor - Jack of all trades, master of none.

Welcome to my first attempt at a web page.  This was created right after I put in my two week's notice at SAPPI in June of 2002.  Please feel free to check out the News and Photos of the Farm page for the latest picture postings and news from the Foxes' farm.

As many of you know, I quit my job at the paper mill to work on the farm and office full time.   As my poor old knees wouldn't take what the new mill owners were asking of them, I decided to quit while I was still irritated enough to take that scary leap into self-employment.  MN unemployment agency frowns on quitting a $19.50 an hour job, so there was is no unemployment insurance.  It is pretty hard to tell if my grey hairs have been multiplying, but I made a few sales of web-sites and e-books postings today, so things are calming down a bit.

Calming down quite a bit, eh?  No, I haven't had time for stuff like this yet, this picture was from two summers ago.  For being unemployed, I'm sure  working an awful lot, about ten to twelve hours a day.  Uff-da!

What do I want to do with my life now that freedom has thumped me on the forehead?  Edit books and raise rabbits.  I'd like to think that I've helped the authors whose books have already passed through these hands.   With a reading rate of somewhere over 400 words per minute, this can be done much more cheaply than any of the services that weeks of Google web searches have turned up.

These other services just sort of happened.  While wondering how to help first time authors get their books out to the paying public, more Google searches brought me around to posting their work as e-books for sale on this site.    Cheap posting and no commitments should help even tentative authors make some money and get exposure.  This can not help but improve my editing future, so e-book catalogs came into being.

Much research and calculation went into legally obtaining, repairing, and installing used and refurbished equipment and software for my own office.  It seemed likely that others needed the same, but didn't have the time to do so.  Besides, friends and family call on my skills on a regular basis, so I might as well make some money off of the experience.  Thusly, office and internet account services came into being.

Massage has been a hobby of mine since I was at least 8 years old or so, and now people pay me for it!  At $30.00 per hour I'm pretty reasonable, but I feel bad charging for what I'd done for free for so long.  But on the bright side, it dovetails nicely with my manuscript editing and website design services.  One cannot massage for 40 hours a week, so I do all of my computer work between massages.  I neither work on my feet nor sit at a computer too long.

Eggs, rabbits, and custom cages are how some of the farm expenses have always been offset, so there is little news there.  But in the near future there will be time to make more PVC greenhouses for sale, too.  Time consuming, but a pretty good profit.  Then there's the wholesale flower baskets we've been selling to the feed mill to help offset farm costs.  Three more places are asking how to buy them next year, so I'll have to build another greenhouse this summer.

Now that you know the basics of the Foxes' farm, I  hope that you'll come back soon.  Thank you for your time, and I hope that we can help each other in the future.  =^..^=

32" Cutter/Plotter with metal floor stand, tools, application tape, tutorial, vinyl and software!

A complete basic sign business!

$1,200.00 with shipping to USA or local delivery.

Any questions?  Email office@foxesfarm.com or call Kathy 218-590-7981

If anyone wants a cheap cutter/plotter, this might work out for you.  Specifications chart on the machine is after the description of everything in the package.

$1,200.00 with free US shipping or delivery within 200 miles of Duluth, MN. Or $1,100.00 picked up. If you are within 200 miles of me and you want it delivered or you're picking it up, I can also assemble it for another $20.00.
This package deal includes:

1- Master XY-380 32" (800 mm) Cutter/plotter (32" cutting width, 36" width media capacity.)  with floor stand, cutting knife, and plotting pen.

1- SignGo Pro full professional version sign cutting software. (Retails for $399.99 at www.signgo.com, see that website for a full list of features.)  A nice thing is to download the free 30 day trial of the full pro version, and learn it while the machine is on the way.  You can have a project ready to cut when your machine is assembled.  You could have the first design cut out within an hour of opening the boxes.

1- Set Vector Clipart & common sayings, over 4,500 images - 2 CD set Original, not a copy.

1- CD with over 8,000 royalty free images and Inkscape vectorization program. Not absolutely necessary with the profesional SignGo pro software in this cutter's package, but it is an early type, that makes you choose how sensitive you want the outlining to be. This can be handy to "tweak" the final product, unlike the automatic tracing or vectorization programs for sale today. The automatics like in SignGo are faster and easier, but every once in a while I use Inkscape for tricky things like photographs.

1- 2 dvd set sign making tutorial.

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss black vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss red vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss yellow vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss orange vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss white vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of gloss blue vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of chrome diamond plate vinyl

1- 24 inch by 20 feet roll of bright brass engine turned vinyl

These 20 foot rolls are really 20-30 feet long.  I reeled off (2) 60 foot rolls from a master 150 foot roll, and I always give at least a foot extra, so there's still more than 20 feet on these rolls I'm selling now.  (It's expensive to drive all the way down to the twin cities every time we need vinyl, and shipping is expensive, too.  So several of us club together on ordering bulk supplies.  I go get them in my van, divide the rolls and supplies between us, and the 20-30 feet off each roll is mine to keep after I give each of them 60 feet.  But since I only do this part-time between massages, I can't use it up fast enough.  So by selling these kits, I'm not drowning in vinyl, and I make a little money off the research and mistakes I made starting up a sign business from scratch.)

1- pdf version and printed document tutorial on vinyl application.
1- Squeegee for installing the vinyl letters, see the above document for how to use it.
1- Quart bottle of RapidTac application fluid.
1- 24 inch by 300 foot roll of transfer tape.

If you're not in the USA, let me know what city/country to ship it to, and I'll give you an international shipping estimate.

Paypal ahead of time or cash only with pickup or delivery.  For a shipped package, PayPal, checks, or money orders are fine, I'll just wait until payment clears before shipping.  Credit cards accepted through paypal.  www.paypal.com
